Martí Commemoration in Camagüey's educational institutions

Florida, Camagüey, November 7 - Throughout January, educational institutions in the region will hold a Martí Commemoration to honor the life and work of José Martí, on the 173rd anniversary of his birth.

The activities aim to delve deeper into the thinking of Cuba's National Hero and reinforce the values ??of independence, patriotism, and humanism that he defended and that have been so trampled upon by the powerful neighbors to the North.

The planned actions are diverse and combine academic, artistic, and community elements. They include special morning meetings, readings and debates of emblematic texts, recitation of his verses, and exhibitions of visual arts inspired by the figure of the Apostle of Cuban Independence; furthermore, knowledge gatherings about his biography and book presentations will be held.

In this way, the municipality of Florida joins, as it does every year, the national commemoration by ensuring that the new generations know, admire, and feel as their own the legacy of José Martí.

The commemoration, which ranges from intimate reflection in the classrooms to public expression in the January 28th parade, constitutes an essential foundation in the comprehensive education of students to instill the duty to serve the Homeland with the same dedication and love as the most universal of Cubans did.
